The Gerald Ford Presidential Museum

The Ford Presidential Museum, dedicated to Gerald R. Ford, the 38th President of the United States, spans over 44,000 square feet on the bank of the Grand River. Ford was laid to rest on the 20-acre campus on January 3, 2007. Over 20,000 items from the live and career of President Ford are housed in the Museum’s archives.

Exhibits span Ford’s life from childhood to the presidency, and include an exact replica of the Oval Office, candid family photographs, and presentations on the Watergate scandal, 1970s pop culture, and more. The Museum also hosts a variety of temporary exhibitions, educational programs, and community events on a regular basis. A pedestrian bridge over the Grand River connects the Museum’s grounds to other Downtown Grand Rapids destinations.

Meyer May House

Meyer and Sophie May commissioned Frank Lloyd Wright to design the Meyer May House in 1908, located in Grand Rapids’ Heritage Hill Historic District east of Downtown. The two-story pale brick home is typical of Wright’s Prairie School work, with decorative art glass windows, skylights, broad eaves, and hipped roofs. In the late 1980s, “Michigan’s Prairie Masterpiece” was restored to its original grandeur.

The home is beautifully furnished with a mix of original, restored, and miscellaneous Arts and Crafts period furnishings, in addition to a fully restored exterior. The grounds and landscaping have also been restored to their original design from the early twentieth century. Throughout the year, tours are available on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays; for Frank Lloyd Wright and architecture enthusiasts, the Meyer May House is must-see.

Craig’s Cruisers

Craig’s Cruisers is an exciting place to visit in the Grand Rapids area! Zoom around the racetracks, both indoor and outdoor, racing opponents in electric go-karts or bouncing off family and friends in bumper cars. While you’re outside, you can fly across the sky in the double-seater zipline chair.

Don’t forget about the fun theme miniature golf. Inside the facility, you’ll find a world of trampoline fun: bounce around for fun or participate in games like dodgeball and slam dunk basketball. Craig’s Cruisers adventure park will satisfy any age group, no matter what your thrill preferences are.
